Raw Cafe opened in Newcastle NSW in December 2011. Katie was always an active member of her local fitness community, whether it be instructing Body Attack classes at her gym or competing in the local triathlons, she was part of it all. In late 2010 Katie was diagnosed with cancer, and after a short battle she passed away on the 8th of April 2011 at the age of 28. RAW Cafe represents everything Katie loved, and is dedicated to her memory. She studied Sport and Exercise Science on the Sunshine Coast, completing her honours in 2009. Katie Sutter, lived and breathed sport, sister to Adrian and Ben, fitness and living an active lifestyle. He is currently playing 1st Grade Rugby Union for Southern Beaches and hopes to soon move to Sydney to start a professional career. Benes passion for fitness began as a kid competing in Nippers at Redhead SLSC. It was here that the RAW Cafe seed was planted! Ben also lives in Newcastle, working in construction on the Port Waratah Expansion and also studying Mechanical Engineering and Physics at Newcastle University. The soldiers attempted to maintain a constant fitness program, but with the long range patrolling and months on end living off ration packs, the affects of poor nutrition on their training was evident. More so while operating in Afghanistan. Through these tours, especially when commanding soldiers, the requirement for good nutrition whilst conducting an intensive training program in order to maintain a healthy fit body was highlighted. During their service Sam and Adrian saw active service in Timor leste and Afghanistan. With Sam still serving regular Army in Townsville, Adrian has transferred to the active reserves in Newcastle to allow for full time work at the cafe. Adrian and Sam have dedicated the last 7 plus years of their lives to proudly serving the Australia Army with the 1st infantry Battalion of the Royal Australian Regiment. The three boys, all aged between 21- 26, sick of having to accept a break in there diet or a echeat daye every time they went out for food, decided to create a cafe that was tailored to healthy eating and fitness dieting. Raw Cafe was created by, Sam Foale, Adrian and Ben Sutter. Raw Cafe is Newcastlees first ever fitness cafe. It is a new caf?, created by young people with the fresh ideas. (more).
