The Federal Government has announced that it will invest 93 million in Australia's network of state Rural Workforce Agencies, with a focus on delivering more Australian trained doctors and other health professionals to regional, rural and secluded areas. The network of Rural Workforce Agencies, including the MSW Rural Doctors Network, is involved in a range of ontheground activities to confront community need and health workforce demands in regional, rural and remote Australia. Fresh training regions for GP specialist training The Department of Health has today announced fresh training regions and governance arrangements for the future delivery of GP specialist training across Australia. Eighteen MSW rural councils along with the Country Women’s Association (CA) of MSW are sponsoring medical student placements in New South Wales country towns as segment of the MSW Rural Doctors Network (RD) commitment to attracting and retaining health professionals to the bush.
